DU COTE DE CHEZ CLAUDE
Spring-Summer 2023
Faded, delicate textile design, a blue pond covered with mini water lilies
Just to laugh, to take ownership of these alleys I have traveled so many times, I say “let’s go to Claude’s”!
Family visit, artistic visit, my nikon slung over my shoulder, I am in Giverny, I capture the colors. At all times.

Their vermilion corollas stand valiantly on the flattened wheat. |  |
The army of tulips, modest pansies,

the pomponettes dolled up like for the debutante ball |
|
the sage hedges and their powdery pink bells, |
|
azaleas tangled with begonias, water lilies.. |
|
Roses, never.
I arrive too early, I arrive too late, they intimidate me with their royal haughtiness, their disdain for the floral conquests of the gardener in love.
| Ponds of Corrèze, small rivers not far from my house, Ponds of Giverny, their dream power is unlimited. |
Mirror ponds, upside down, the trees lean towards each other... They inspire me like an eternal dialogue. |

After "Monet", "Nénuphars" and "Nymphéas" prints, here is
"Du côté de chez Claude". |

Miniaturized, it spreads its leaves in raw green cups floating on an oceanic blue,
| washed from all weathers, darkened here and there with purplish spots, calm and sleeping monsters. |
Its solitary flowers, white, delicately red, stand on this mini aquatic tumult! |
