This is the story of a skirt. A skirt found in my grandmother's trunk. For four decades, I have said to myself "how I would like to revisit it".

And this is never the time, I'm caught up in too many ideas ... It took this confinement, this lack of time or these armfuls of time precisely, dig deep inside me and reopen wardrobe.
|
It is a beautiful skirt in rough fabric, with the stapled waistband, the large hem fixed with yarn stitches and multiple pleats, |
attesting to the delicacy of my dear little grandmother and testimony of a time when starched, starched words stuck to petticoats and heels. |
Summer 2021 is the summer of all catch-ups! My skirt hasn't aged a bit, except that I found the original coloring too dark, and harsh. A bit like too dark hair on a delicate face. |
| Gradually, I saw boats there, which naturally took me to an atmosphere of a submerged continent. |
Caravels caught in the spiral of blue waves, their primary-colored sails uniting in a sunny regatta. |
Testimony of a time when starched, starched words stuck to petticoats and heels, as if over time we had stripped ourselves of our shackles. Where did she find her coupons, my grandmother? Fabric stores, large unpackings, a mythology of flirtatious women who are clever with their fingers ...
