After having designed glamorous and stylish sixties dresses for many years, Anne-Elisabeth had been dedicated to the denim industry since summer 1997. She started with printed denim, twisting sumptuous drawings from haute couture and using them on gabardine. Since summer 2001, she has appropriated the blue denim fabric and transformed it with processings, silkscreen printings, handmade paintings, or embroideries.
Today, she is coming back to her initial passion : a certain idea of French Couture. She works on fabulous prints to design feminine dresses, jackets or tee-shirts, that she boosts with trash garments: it is her perfect balance between feminine exclusivity and today’s streets.
Now, the brand ANNE ELISABETH is distributed in France as well as abroad. Japan is her first export market; European countries and the United States are her other important ones.
Anne-Elisabeth has been influenced by her numerous initiatory journeys around Africa, Middle East, Asia, America and Europe. Her fondness of travelling in France and around the world inspires her designs. Her other great sources of inspiration are readings and contemplations of Paris and Tokyo lifestyles.
Even though she needs the outside world, her creation comes from within. The combination of both makes her successfully produce a new collection twice a year, but not without stress!
Thus, Anne-Elisabeth’s work reflects her Paris city dwelling, her mind open to the world through her travelling, and her romantic and feminine view of life.
And we must not forget her literary characteristics as everywhere she goes, Anne-Elisabeth brings along her little note book in which she writes, draws, and scribbles. Moreover, she gives a name to each of her designs: it can be the name of a remote town, of a river, of a book, of a novel character, or just a word by itself.
For Anne-Elisabeth, each garment is the material expression of an inner idea, which has a literature expression as well. Both cannot be dissociated, they are as one.
